About Member
|
I got interested in tractors at the Great Oregon Steam Up in Brooks, OR when I was 11. Bob Folk on Orcas Island found my first tractor for me-a 1949 B. I restored that and it took almost 3 years.
Now I have owned and restored 3 other tractors. Now I primarily work on the 1949 John Deere R I have. It is one of only 3500 made with pull start for the pony motor.
I am a cook at Skagit River Produce but have several side occupations such as engine rebuilding, automotive painting, pinstriping, and farm work.
I have had a great experience so far in being a member of the club for who knows how long. I think it has been around 5 years or so. It is good to learn from all the old guys, listening to their wise advice and sometimes not so wise advice. Everyone in the club is friendly and they are good people.
